The Gentle Hat is knitted on circular needles from the bottom up in stockinette stitch. The cuff is then folded over so that the wrong side is on the outside. In the middle of the cuff, 1 round is knitted in stockinette stitch in a contrasting colour. This round turns into 2 subtle, decorative lines after the cuff is folded over due to the colour change. Hidden garter stitch rounds make it easier to fold the hat over and ensure a beautiful transition at the top edge of the cuff.
